Our January Sermon Series is a series brought to us by Student Life. Peter learned the key to discipleship – everything points to the cross. SEQUENCE walks teenagers through 3 life-changing steps that Jesus used to define His followers. Are your students stuck in worldly patterns or are they lining up with God’s movement?
Sequence
Following Christ in Radical Surrender
What does it mean to be a Christ-follower?
Lesson 1:
The first lesson asks students to identify Christ and then introduces His steps for discipleship – deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me.
Lesson 2:
The second lesson begins examining a holy pattern of living. Jesus’ humble submission to God’s will is the perfect example of denying self.
Lesson 3:
The third lesson explores the significance of Jesus’ crucifixion. The cross is now also a public declaration of a person’s alignment with Christ and opposition to the world.
Lesson 4:
The final lesson investigates the risen Redeemer’s call to follow Him. Regardless of what has happened in someone's life, the next step will always be to focus on following Christ.
